BAND ORIGIN
Funktion began as a concept in 1996 by two young song writers, Devin B. (Vocalist)
and Mike Lopez (Guitarist).
Inspired by the music of artists as varied as the Beatles, Led Zepplin, Prince, Red hot chili peppers, 311 and the rapid growth of hip Hop and Electronic music, the two original members wrote music together and searched for a third member which they found in a talented musician and artist, Steve V. (Bassist).
By combining the musical as well as artistic ability of its members, the group was able to create a powerful new sound and stage persona that would take on the name of Funktion. The group combined electronic beats and acoustic rhythms with catchy melodies and simple hooks to create a sound that caught the ears of many people.
